On Sunday, June 16, Skrillex sent out a telling tweet: “I wish I was at Second Sky Fest.” It was followed up six hours later by a “;),” with the iconic bass/crossover producer taking the main stage at Porter Robinson‘s debut festival shortly afterward for a surprise guest appearance. He performed an array of heavy bass tunes, with plenty of OWSLA representation throughout.
Porter Robinson and Skrillex have a long history together, with the latter actually being one of the first to break Robinson into electronic’s top tier with his prolific Spitfire EP being released on OWSLA. The label owner stayed behind after his impromptu set, telling fans later on through Twitter that Porter & Madeon’s joint set brought him to tears.
Second Sky took place on June 15 & 16 in Oakland, California.
