Following the release of his double-sided LP Our Pathetic Age<\/a><\/em> last November, DJ Shadow<\/a> has revisited the album’s titular track in a refreshing new lyric video. The veteran producer’s most recent album features a two-part structure, with the first half encompassing entirely instrumental tracks and the second section welcoming extensive collaborations from prolific artists including Run the Jewels<\/a>, Nas<\/a>, Ghostface Killah<\/a>, Raekwon<\/a>, and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our Pathetic Age” finds DJ Shadow joining forces with Future Islands<\/a>‘ Samuel T. Herring for a mid-tempo ballad characterized by groove and an overlaying sense of melancholic inspiration. Directed and animated by Adam Dunn, the lyrics video takes the concept of spamming pop-up ads in a creative twist\u2014with visually-stimulating windows infiltrate the screen as they notate the track’s lyrics. Waving its homage to the digital age, smiley faces, 3D pipes, and vapor wave graphics constitute just a few of the graphics that make a cameo in the animated video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
