\nLast year when venerated electronic trio Noisia<\/a> announced they’d be splitting indefinitely<\/a> after a distinguished 20-year run together, 2020 was expected to be a year of bittersweet goodbyes with one final farewell tour on the books. Of course those plans changed this year, and while Noisia’s final tour has been postponed to 2021<\/a>, the group is already starting to splinter off into their own solo endeavors, namely Thys<\/a>. Shortly after seemingly confirming a new side project with Skrillex <\/a>under the hood, the Dutch drum ‘n’ bass veteran has returned with his debut solo single, the lead cut from his upcoming debut EP, Unmoved Mover<\/em> \/ Unwound<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The EP’s lengthy, seven-and-a-half-minute title track introduces Thys’ solo sound with a club-ready breakbeat effort, characterized by complex percussive arrangements and sinister synthwork. The upcoming project is expected to showcase two different facets to Thys’ sound, showcasing performance-primed DJ set weapons as heard on “Unmoved Mover,” and a more experimental side on Unwound<\/em>, delving into fringe ambient sonics for a more cinematic listening experience.
