\nGrammy Award-winning artist James Blake<\/a> has unveiled his latest four-track EP titled, Before<\/em>, including his song “Do You Ever,” which was previewed in a recent Cadillac commercial to promote the company\u2019s new 2021 Escalade model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Blake said in the video,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHonestly it\u2019s a really strange time to release music. I still want to give people music. I still want to have that release myself\u2014my demo, all my new stuff in the car. There\u2019s nothing more satisfying than making something, whether it\u2019s for myself or someone else, and then just jumping in the car and listening to it,\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Before<\/em> eulogizes James Blake’s early clubbing days as a DJ in London as the four tracks range in tempo and cadence, featuring a miscellany of palpitating house grooves and intimate piano-accentuated ambience. The EP is Blake’s first full release since 2019 when his highly acclaimed Assume Form<\/a><\/em> album released with an array of seemingly unlikely hip-hop and R&B collaborations, including tracks with Travis Scott<\/a>, Metro Boomin<\/a>, and Andr\u00e9 3000<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Blake has shared visuals for his tracks \u201cYou\u2019re Too Precious<\/a>\u201d and \u201cAre You Even Real?,\u201d as well as a series of covers including songs by Billie Eilish, Radiohead, Ray Charles, Roberta Flack, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Nirvana, and an acoustic cover of Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed”<\/a> which he co-wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stream the latest EP below and keep a look out as Blake will DJ on Boiler Room<\/a> on Friday, October 16 at 5:00 p.m. EST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
