<\/iframe><\/p>Spinnin’ standout KSHMR<\/a> has finally released his stunning new conceptual\u00a0EP,\u00a0The Lion Across The Field.\u00a0<\/em> The album functions as a score for a children’s book of the same title that the producer authored himself several years ago. The book and its musical accompaniment tells the story of a young boy’s quest to find a mysterious lion.<\/p>The EP, out now on Spinnin’, weaves cinematic and narrative elements together with sonic interludes in a thoughtful, compelling series of tracks. KSHMR has also orchestrated a chaptered video series<\/a>\u00a0that will bring the story to life in a new way with song-specific animations. In sum,\u00a0the work is a laudable effort from the burgeoning\u00a0producer and an engrossing listen.<\/p>“The Lion Across The Field\u00a0<\/em>is the realization of several things I’ve never done before,” said KSHMR of the EP, “writing a kids book, writing an album around a story, and ultimately creating a body of ‘electronic’ music that mostly focuses on real instruments.”<\/p>The ambitious EP is a continued exploration of the producer’s Kashmiri-Indian background and bears much of his signature orchestral sound. The music is rich with sonic references to South Asian music and Bollywood cinema — both influences to the enigmatic DJ. Ultimately, even\u00a0his most commercial releases, like recent Beatport number one “Wildcard,” are meaningfully nuanced and set him apart from the rest of the Spinnin’ pack.<\/p>
