We bring you our favorite therapeutic selections — old and new — in an attempt to alleviate the agonizing effects of a long weekend of partying.

1. Kicking off this week’s dose is a collaboration from New York by-way-of New Jersey producers Flamingosis and Birocratic. Not only are they fellow statesmen, the duo are also purveyors of some of the smoothest sample work out there. Led by a sweet piano sample — the textbook definition of “ticklin’ the ivories” — “Passing By” presents a lackadaisical vibe that rolls along effortless energy.

2. Next up is “Poly Amor” from Australian group Tora. The five-piece combines gently wobbling patches, aquatic waves, and rounded off synths to slide their latest release forward. Combined with catchy vocals and filtered guitar-like leads to provide the perfect accompaniment for a Sunday spent by the pool or beach.

3. Making this a truly global affair, Frenchman Jawster is up next with “Don’t You See.” This entry actually packs a bit of kick once it gets going but a subdued intro with gently swirling and rising synths smootsh the transition into rapidly pulsing, future-esque waves. Keeping everything within an acceptable range, however, is vocalist’s Titi Stier’s effortless delivery and crooning style.

4. Staying in France, Zimmer offers up a remix of Vallis Alps’ “Young.” Clever use of percussion and increased tempo from the original ups this from a typical deep house track and gives it a more rolling energy. Generous doses of reverb and ethereal pads, not to mention some vocal chops and a groovy guitar lick, match the velvety hook of the Australian duo’s original that eventually takes over for an acapella ending.

5. Volume 134 ends with a bi-coastal collective entry from North America. LA producer and vocalist dot gets an assist from her fellow Team Supreme member, Brooklyn’s JNTHN STEIN. STEIN’s meandering bass guitar licks and dot’s haunting vocals and production would make for an impressive dreamy RnB flavored track on their own. A second half complete with gently buzzing saw waves adds an additional layer of intrigue while maintaining the space for dot’s singing to calm listeners as another week begins.

Read More:

DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: Volume 133

DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: Volume 132

DA’s Sunday Morning Medicine: Volume 131

[3
