Ultra Music Festival had promised that their 20th anniversary event in Miami would be one for the ages, and boy did they come through. Between the epic reunion of Swedish House Mafia to some guy chugging Sriracha hot sauce while raging in the mosh at Joyryde — Ultra 2018 had it all.
Almost every dance A-lister on the planet stepped up for sets over the weekend, including Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, Tiësto, Valentino Khan, Armin van Buuren, and David Guetta.
Plenty of special back-to-backs went down as well: techno heroes Nicole Moudaber, Dubfire, and Paco Osuna went b2b on Carl Cox’s Megastructure stage, French house king Tchami linked up with Malaa, and NGHTMRE went toe-to-toe with Slander.
As for the locals, Sydney producer What So Not crushed his Worldwide stage set, and Empire of the Sun pulled off a massive performance on the Live stage right before Porter Robinson debuted his Virtual Self project for the Ultra crowd.
Most of the weekend’s sets have now been uploaded online — get stuck into some of the best below.
