Aurous is being described as the Popcorn Time of music. According to its founder Andrew Sampson, Aurous uses APIs from websites like Apple Music, Spotify and SoundCloud to create free, fast-streaming playlists. Aurous’ intention was to create a compilation of streaming services in order to get as much free music out to the public. While Aurous sounds like a great idea in theory, just hours after launching Aurous, Sampson was hit with a lawsuit. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) states that Sampson created this application with full knowledge of its infringement of copyright. The lawsuit also states that
