Well, this was unexpected.
Australian pop legend and ex-Neighbours star Kylie Minogue has announced she’ll be hitting up Berlin’s notorious techno temple Berghain on her upcoming club tour. No, seriously.
The ‘Locomotion’ singer will stop at the club late next month, following performances at similar-sized clubs in London, Barcelona and Paris in support of her new album Golden. Needless to say, it’ll be her debut Berghain show.
It’s a strange booking to be sure — Berghain’s more used to techno A-listers like The Black Madonna and Marcel Dettmann – but it’s not entirely without precedent: London rapper Skepta played a show there back in 2016. And let’s be real, Kylie does have a back catalogue full of bangers like ‘On A Night Like This’ and ‘Confide In Me’.
If you’re going to be in that neck of the woods, tickets to Minogue’s Berghain show go on sale next Tuesday, February 15. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll get past the doorman, Sven.
