British hit machine Gorgon City needs little versing on the process of crossing over. While both “Ready For Love” and more recent radio favorite “Here For You” established the duo as a consistent contender to the sound’s commercial apex, the road to their debut album ‘Sirens’ was sure to test the longevity of an undeniable spike in relevance for Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott all-embracing alter-ego.
Accompanied by Zak Abel, “Unmissable” is an indicator that the duo’s bassy house getup still has a few things to say. Soulful vocals and sultry melodies meet overbearing low-end movements with considerable clarity, forming a track unashamedly tailored to the pop market with enough stamina to hold festival crowds along the way. The jury is still out as to whether there is an album’s worth of hits left in their movements, but single number three from Gorgon City is enough to keep hopes of a British radio overhaul high for the summer ahead.
