Eelke Kleijn – Mistakes I’ve Made (Original Mix)

Dancing Astronaut - house, electro, progressive, dubstep

The rise of Eelke Kleijn has been one of moving moments across the board, setting the Rotterdam-based talent miles ahead of many of his national peers on the merit of a unique balance between the deep and the progressive sound scope. Having recently turned his hand to remix duties for Benny Benassi and John Legend, his first Spinnin original in more than a year crosses borders and boundaries in the name of an ongoing balance between club coherence and universal reckoning for the accomplished studio hand.

“Mistakes I’ve Made” is by far the closest leap towards a commercial crossover record that Kleijn’s studio work has made to date, but the reassuring quality and melodic coherence that comes with it is enough to reassure of the Dutchman’s ongoing stamina. Soft and sometimes cinematic instrumentation matches the stern grooves and soft melodic swells that accompany this distinguished vocal outing, putting the track well ahead of some of 2014’s less persuasive radio offerings. No one can deny that Eelke Kleijn is pushing barriers that need to be broken right now. The fact that he does so with such dignity is everything and more you need to know about Holland’s next undisputable melodic house heavyweight.
