New music highlights from Dancing Astronaut’s Artists to Watch in 2025
SHOUSE – Sunrise (Henri Bergmann remix)
Henri Bergmann delivers a stunning new remix of SHOUSE’s “Sunrise,” out now via Hell Beach/Onelove. Reimagining the Australian-New Zealand duo’s latest single through her melodic lens, Bergmann transforms the track into a progressive and euphoric journey. The remix has already become a standout moment in her recent performances at Brunch Barcelona and Zamna Tenerife, where it drew powerful crowd reactions. – Alex Lambeau
Layton Giordani, GENESI & Be No Rain – Call You Back
GENESI teams up with Layton Giordani and vocalist Be No Rain for “Call You Back,” a groovy crossover release on Giordani’s new MADMINDS record label. Recently named a Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2025, GENESI continues his breakout run following standout releases on Diynamic, Truesoul, and Aeterna. With “Call You Back,” Giordani and GENESI deliver a club record that will surely see widespread DJ support across all sub genres of house and techno. – Alex Lambeau
MARTA – No Small Talk
Toronto-based MARTA delivers her second original release of 2025 with “No Small Talk.” The self-released single follows August’s “World Of The Rave.” She’s in the middle of a fall tour that included a date at Magnetic World Festival in Halifax and upcoming dates at D/partment in her hometown of Toronto plus Montreal, Winnipeg and Ottawa. – Ross Goldenberg
Otherwish – It’s Okay To Wonder [EP]
When Otherwish took over the stage in the heart of Times Square back in early September, his hour-long pop-up set was packed with one unreleased original after another. Fast forward a month and a half, and the former Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch has returned to his longtime home of This Never Happened with a five-sided EP, It’s Okay To Wonder. Following “All About This,” Otherwish’s fifth extended release on Lane 8’s imprint further refines his distinct melodic house sound that has continually set him apart over the past two years. – Ross Goldenberg
Max Styler – You & Me
Max Styler ushers in a new chapter with “You & Me,” one of Dancing Astronaut‘s most-anticipated IDs of the year and the debut release on his freshly minted label, Nu Moda. Most notably included in Styler’s Seismic 2024 set, the single from Dancing Astronaut‘s reigning Breakout Artist of the Year captures the essence of what Nu Moda represents—artistry without limits and a commitment to those redefining the sound of dance music. “You & Me” carries an infectious energy that embodies Styler’s evolving vision as both a producer and curator. With this release, he invites listeners into the world of Nu Moda—a space for creativity, connection, and forward-thinking sound. – Danielle Carty
ChaseWest – Scream!
After months of circulating as a highly-anticipated ID, ChaseWest’s “Scream!” has finally been given its official release, just in time for Halloween. Championed in sets by artists like Michael Bibi and Adam Ten, the track fuses eerie energy with the Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch alumni’s tech house grooves. With screams and howls woven into its rhythm, “Scream!” is a dance floor ready thriller that keeps the energy high from start to finish. – Liana Stern
Bob Moses – BLINK [Album]
Written across a flurry of Dropbox links and Discord notifications traded across coasts (Tom Howie in New York, Jimmy Valence in Los Angeles), Bob Moses’ BLINK asks an existential question: “How do you reconcile the desire to have a meaningful life with the realization that it’s gone in an instant, that you can’t hold onto things for too long?”
After remotely tooling ideas from keyboard riffs and drum loops, the electronic-rock duo reconvened in several cities, including Toronto and Vancouver, to answer it. The resulting LP – their fourth – straddles the ever-thin line between for now and forever. Across 10 stirring tracks that find the outfit at the top of its game, Bob Moses awakens to a reality equal parts bitter and sweet: The only way to fix ephemera is to accept that it’s all ephemeral.
“Life moves so quickly that it’s sometimes hard to keep up. Are we doing all we should be? Are we achieving our goals, hitting the next level, and creating the most meaningful life we can be? It’s a lot to reckon with,” Howie says of BLINK’s title track. “Maybe it’s best to acknowledge that being present in the moment, cherishing our experiences, and having the courage to continue on the journey is often the best we can do. Because, you can blink and then it’s gone.” The album plays a lot like that, too. – Rachel Narozniak
Ian Snow – Sub Zero
Snow falls softly. Ian Snow hits hard.
“Sub Zero,” the Denver-based producer’s answer to June’s “Ice Waves,” deepens the frigid imagery and sounds of his burgeoning catalog with enough bass to turn a whiteout into a blackout. Sonically, it fuses the newer elements of his freewheeling, low-end-heavy sound with the stylistic groundwork he laid under his earlier project, SNOWMASS. “Midtempo will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s bouncy, grimy, and danceable — driven by the sounds of the future,” he says. “I love taking every nook and cranny of a track and glitching it out while still preserving its body-moving impact. To me, ‘Sub Zero’ is the epitome of that balance.” The track (and temperatures) drops via Bite This! – Rachel Narozniak
Afrojack & Eva Simon – Take Over Control (Remixes from Maddix, HILLS)
Afrojack’s celebration of 15 years of “Take Over Control” commences with a pair of remixes from Maddix and HILLS that make like the song’s title to do just that. With dynamite in its DNA, the former’s spin detonated at Tomorrowland Brasil last weekend, conferring a raw new vitality to one of Afrojack’s most seminal releases. Maddix’s hard, hammering take both incites chaos in raveland and strikes a sharp contrast to the late-night house sensibilities of HILLS’ interpretation. Slick and controlled, with weighty bass heft and club groove, the duo reframes “Take Over Control” for a different but no less propulsive dance/electronic setting, naturally infusing it with their effortless cool. Consider control taken. – Rachel Narozniak
