North Carolina has never been known for its robust electronic music scene. While the state serves as home to innovator Porter Robinson and music hardware supplier Moog, much of its electronic influence is channeled through jam band-stylized tunes in the South East. Raleigh native Tim Gunter, however, is looking to change these preconceived notions. Most recently trying his hand at Elephante’s progressive slam “Shake The Earth, Gunter channels the trap artist within him through thick drum work and a synth-driven break. The track’s shining point is its percussive work, proving the malleability of the artist’s talents as he rises to the trap challenge with incredibly crisp snare hits.
