Underworld, Heller & Farley, and The Misterons have teamed up to cover the legendary Frankie Knuckles‘ “Baby Wants To Ride.” Proceeds from all downloads and vinyl purchases go to the Frankie Knuckles Fund, part of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which works with men at high risk of HIV in Africa, African communities in the U.K., and African American communities in the U.S.A.

Though the cover is more direct than the flirtatious original, it’s still every bit as dramatic and intimate. The similarities and differences in the songs are quite appropriate given the relationship of the artists: Frankie Knuckles is a pioneer of house music, and Underworld and Heller & Farley are dance music legends. The differences in their versions of “Baby Wants To Ride” neatly capture the nuances in styles championed by each of these dance music elders.

“Baby Wants To Ride” is available digitally via Junior Boys Own/Caroline International. Limited edition 12” vinyl copies are available for pre-order.
