In preparation for the release of their highly-anticipated album Magnifique, instrumental electro-rock pioneers Ratatat share their latest single titled “Nightclub Amnesia.” The single starts off with a stream of abrasive guitar riffs and crisp clapping samples before bursting into a wave of futuristic synths and thumping bass. “Nightclub Amnesia” adopts a more rugged sound than the other four singles shared from Magnifique thus far; but this rock-heavy release hopefully foreshadows the “core guitar-driven sound” that is described in the album’s press release.
On July 17, the Brooklyn-based duo, who are currently on their 2015 world tour, will drop the 14-track Magnifique – their first album in five years.
