12 MGM Resorts along Las Vegas Strip to implement parking fees

Category: EDM NEWS

MGM Resorts’ 12 estates will soon rescind the “free” aspect of guests’ stays. Complimentary parking is now a thing of the past, as Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, and 10 other resorts will begin charging up to $10 per night in as soon as a few months.

“The pricing is going to be modest. It will not exceed $10 a night for self parking,” Clark Dumont, a senior vice president, commented. A ballpark for valet parking was not provided.

In a city where vehicle owners have for years benefitted from free parking at many of the Strip’s luxury hotels and grandiose shopping centers, MGM’s announcement comes as a blow to most. However, Dumont says that the new fee will contribute to a superior parking experience, such as being able to find vacant spaces with their smartphones.

There is speculation that Caesars Entertainment and Wynn-Encore may follow suit, though they declined to comment.
