With his much-anticipated album Opus now out in the world, prog-don Eric Prydz has turned his attention to the latest incarnation of his appropriately-named EPIC live shows, known for their mind-bending barrages of lasers and 3D visuals.
Judging from the videos that Prydz has been posting to Facebook over the past week, EPIC 4.0 doesn’t disappoint. The Guardian called it a “barrage of all the senses” after seeing the Hollywood Palladium show in Los Angeles, with “a gargantuan light show replete with lime green lasers, holograms of swirling tornadoes and an imposing laser scan of [Prydz’] own face that looms over him like the wizard from Wizard Of Oz.”
The live show debuted in New York on 13 and 14 February, before travelling to Los Angeles and San Francisco, while March will see EPIC 4.0 travel to Miami for Ultra and Miami Music Week.
Besides appearances at the UK’s Creamfields and EDC, no other EPIC 4.0 dates have been announced as yet, so Australian Prydz fanatics will have to content themselves with the below video snippets for the meantime.
