For L’Tric, celebrating ’90s house is all about returning to their roots.”We both have an attachment and a soft spot for that sound as we both started playing out and then producing around the mid-90s,” Any Jaimes – AKA Sgt. Slick – told inthemix last year. “Returning to this sound for us was a reaction I guess to what was happening last year with big room and electro, where kick drums became so fat and leads so distorted that there really was nowhere left to go in the sonic scale.
“L’Tric for us is like hitting a reset button, taking it back to the music that got us into this thing in the first place.”
