Researchers want your help to improve drug harm reduction at festivals

Category: EDM NEWS

If you’ve been to a music festival in Victoria or Western Australia in the past 12 months, and you have opinions on what festivals and the government should be doing to reduce drug related harms (from pill-testing to sniffer dogs and beyond), then researchers at the National Drug Research Institute and Curtin University want to hear from you.

They’re conducting an anonymous online survey of festival goers to find out how people use drugs at festivals in WA and Victoria, and what strategies can be used to help keep people safe. The results of the survey will be used to “develop recommendations aimed at reducing the risk of future drug-related harm at these events,” so your input could have a very real effect upon harm reduction at festivals.

The researchers also want to hear from people who go to festivals and don’t take drugs, and all the information collected will be kept confidential and anonymous. If you want to help out (and go in the draw to win a $500 JB Hi-Fi gift voucher for your troubles) then head over here for more info, or go straight to the survey over here.
